This wine is a blend of four vineyards; our own Buttonfield and Trout Lily Ranch in the Chehalem Mountain AVA, Terrarossa Vineyard in the Dundee Hills AVA and Hannah’s Vineyard in the Tualatin Valley. It is a mix of the 777, Pommard and 115 clones. The deep garnet hue belies the rich notes of cola, strawberry preserves, ribbon candy and forest loam in the nose.

As always, this bottling is a vintage selection of our absolute favorite barrels. This year’s six-barrel blend is comprised of two vineyards; our own Buttonfield and the neighboring Trout Lily Ranch. The 2 clones are 777 and Pommard. A stunning match of these sites and 18 months in barrel has given this wine great structure for the cellar. The deep garnet hue has indigo tones leading to the black plum and strawberry preserves notes in the nose. The approach is smooth and layered with spice and bright acidity. The finish is rich with fine tannins that make the flavors linger. This wine is drinking beautifully now, and will easily age for fifteen plus years.
Sourced from the X-Novo Vineyard in the Eola-Amity AVA, this wine shows a delightful acidity which is rounded out with layers of lemon curd and notes of almond. This wine is barrel fermented and spends sixteen months in French oak of which only 40% is new. This practice works to integrate the oak resulting in a balanced and nuanced Chardonnay in which the fruit is the star and the oak merely an accessory.
2015 Pinot Gris
100% grown on our home vineyard, Buttonfield Estate and planted in 1989, these Pinot Gris vines are the “Old Clone Gris” selection that was planted on an east facing, 1.3 acre Stonyland outcropping. These cobble stone sized rocks infuse the wine with bold minerality and rich aromatics of white peach, honey dew melon and apricot nectar. The approach is smooth and refreshing with an ideal alcohol and a long succulent finish.
Hailing from Maresh Vineyard, in the Dundee Hills AVA, this is the oldest Riesling vineyard in Yamhill County, planted in 1970. Harvested on October 12, 2014 & crafted in the off-dry German Kabinett style, this Riesling displays fresh minerality with vibrant citrus, honey and stone fruits, finishing with sweet stone & floral notes.
